As a MAP-SEF Fellow, Cody updated and expanded the greenhouse gas inventory and management strategy for the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC). Building on previous work done by Cody, this project developed a more accurate emission inventory for SLAC and a concrete action plan for managing future energy use and emission reductions. Cody also researched and constructed a set of recommendations for an Australian developer that is planning a new town for 20,000 people just outside Sydney, Australia, on what is currently open land. He looked at specific characteristics of a number of US projects and compared their relevance and applied their lessons to issues in the Australian development.“It is valuable for the work that we can accomplish, as an infusion of energy and enthusiasm into RMI, and also to preview potential junior staff, whom we have recruited from previous MAP Fellows.” —Alexis Karolides
"Spending the summer at RMI was the perfect way to cap my undergraduate energy work at Stanford. I had the chance to work next to industry-leading professionals in energy and green buildings and collaborate on the type of cutting edge project that most excites me. The MAP Fellowship was invaluable in extending my understanding of green community development and in learning about the culture and strategy of an organization leading the way toward sustainable energy systems." —Cody Taylor |
