Cliff's primary project was drafting a report focusing on the environmental impacts of landfill gas energy projects, and examining economic incentives to encourage such projects. He also worked on projects ranging from definitions of sustainable biomass to the redevelopment of lower Manhattan in the wake of 9/11.
