Graduation Date: June 2011
Degree(s): M.S. Civil and Environmental Engineering (Atmosphere & Energy); B.S. Earth Systems; B.A. International Relations

As a member of the Climate Change & Renewable Energy team, Kevin worked on a project to document and map energy efficiency measures implemented during China's 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-2010), in order to meet national and provincial energy intensity goals.

During the summer, he was also dispatched to Suzhou, located in Jiangsu Province, where he wrote a report on the city's demand-side management program. He hopes that Suzhou's innovative practices, including energy audits, web-based monitoring systems, and a package of technical assistance and incentive programs, can be adopted elsewhere in the country to spur greater energy and carbon savings.

Rounding out his time in Beijing, he helped NRDC coordinate with other Chinese NGOs in preparation for the UNFCCC negotiations in Tianjin, marking the first time UN climate talks have been held in China.
