Kelly examined how energy flows through homes in three different locations (Fresno, Chicago, and Beijing) throughout the world. This involved understanding regional grid differences, creating building energy models, and researching generation, appliance and building system efficiencies. Kelly then summarized her work in Sankey diagrams. This project was presented at GreenBuild in Chicago November 2010. In addition, Kelly assisted USGBC in creating carbon calculations for the LEED 2012 rating system.

“It was really nice to learn and also feel that my skills were useful to this great organization.”

“Kelly was a pleasure to work with and a real asset to our organization.”

Chris Pyke, Vice President Research
