Graduation Date: June 2009 During Meg’s one-year Fellowship in the NRDC DC office, she worked on several policy initiatives to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy at the Federal level. She was a critical part of the Federal Energy Team and worked to develop and advance policies such as Federal building energy codes, incentives to promote energy efficiency in existing buildings and the energy efficiency resource standard. Meg also worked on the regulatory side, advancing the efficiency of Federal appliance standards. Meg will continue her work as an Energy Efficiency Advocate for NRDC splitting her time between Federal legislation and appliance standards. “I’ve learned so much about how policy gets made on the Federal level and it’s been an incredibly interesting time to be in Washington.” Meg Waltner
“A MAP Fellow brings an already sophisticated understanding of energy issues along with a high level of competency, and thus they make outstanding contributions to our team.” Jim Presswood, Federal Energy Policy Director
