Nicole worked at the Center for Green Schools at USGBC within Higher Education on developing several case studies of how sustainability has been integrated into colleges and universities across the country from buildings, to curriculum, to larger community engagement. Through quantitative and qualitative background research, including interviews with campus sustainability stakeholders and gathering of multimedia, Nicole highlighted the most innovative sustainability initiatives in marketing presentations called "Campus Profiles". The Campus Profile presentations will be available online for other colleges and universities as well as the public to view and use, to inspire them and provide concrete examples of how sustainability has been incorporated from community colleges to Ivy Leagues. They will also be utilized in presentations that the Center for Green Schools at USGBC gives at events and conferences across the country.

Additionally, Nicole represented the Center for Green Schools at USGBC at the California Higher Education Sustainability Conference, where she interviewed leaders in the higher education sustainability movement in California. Nicole also traveled to several colleges and universities on the East Coast to capture interviews faculty, staff and students about their campus sustainability initiatives for the Campus Profiles.

"The Fellowship was a very worthwhile experience and gave me a better perspective of the real impact NGOs can have on the market and policy. I learned a lot about myself and what I want in my career - to work with passionate and motivated people in a supportive and collaborative environment."
