In the fall, Peter will be attending the city planning school at Berkeley.

During his Fellowship, Peter wrote several articles for World Watch magazine. In addition, he researched and helped write a chapter on biofuels for State of the World (including authoring a sidebar in the chapter). The State of the World chapter is part of Worldwatch’s 2006 publication, which will be released in January.

Peter also maintained a biofuels website, which will be an ongoing resource for the Worldwatch energy team and other researchers working on biofuels issues.

In addition, Peter joined a team as a co-author of a report/book on biofuels, focusing on new technologies and lifecycle analysis. The book will be published and translated into more than twenty languages and is expected to be one of the most significant books on the subject to date. Matters of Scale

“Each of our MAP-SEF Fellows has been great, offering different skills and interests and helping to make Worldwatch a stronger and more interesting organization. Having a Fellow each year has enabled us to accomplish more in the areas of energy and climate change than we otherwise would, and it’s been useful to bring in the fresh ideas and perspectives that the fellows provide. We are also happy to have the opportunity to provide Stanford graduates/students with significant opportunities in the energy/climate fields and to help advance their knowledge in these fields.”

—Janet Sawin

I think [the Fellows] are well used here. Worldwatch is particularly open to new voices and willing to trust us with substantial projects.”
