While at Worldwatch, Stephanie contributed to several publications. She helped research and write a chapter on energy issues in urban areas for State of the World 2007 and also authored a text box for the chapter on reducing the environmental impacts of the construction industry. In addition, she wrote several articles for the Eye on Earth news service (see listing below) and World Watch magazine, and assisted with research for the American Energy Report, which details how renewable energy can be integrated into the American economy.

Stephanie represented Worldwatch at two conferences during her tenure. In Birmingham, England, she spoke with international scientists about the effect of changes in ocean currents on global climate. In New York, she met executives from a wide range of industries who were leaders in implementing sustainable corporate practices. She also met with several experts in the Washington, D.C. area to discuss energy poverty issues and emerging "clean coal" technologies.

The second half of Stephanie's Fellowship focused on redesigning the Institute's climate change web portal. The new portal will act as a resource on energy issues, climate change science and policy for Internet audiences.

“The MAP fellowship gave me the opportunity to try something new and make a tangible contribution to the environmental community. I learned not only about Worldwatch's mission and environmental policy, but also a lot about myself.”

- Stephanie Kung

“The MAP-SEF fellows have all been extremely talented, interesting and intelligent individuals, providing important resources to Worldwatch-both personal, as we've enjoyed getting to know them, and professional, as their work has helped to advance our mission. Having a Fellow each year has enabled us to accomplish more in the areas of energy and climate change than we otherwise could, and it's been useful to bring in the fresh ideas and perspectives that the Fellows provide.”

- Janet Sawin, Director, Energy and Climate Change Program
