Graduation Date: 2009 Sam was one of the main authors of the Worldwatch publication “Exploiting the Dominican Republic’s Wind and Solar Resources: Roadmap to a Sustainable Energy System.” He wrote sections assessing the wind and solar resources in the country and identifying and explaining the technical considerations that could affect the siting and grid integration of potential distributed and utility-scale installations. Sam also served as the manager and editor of Worldwatch’s Climate and Energy blog ReVolt, instituting a new publication schedule and protocol. "Aside from my thesis, it is the longest project I have been involved in, and I was given a great deal of responsibility in defining the scope of my work and the processes through which I would accomplish my tasks. I feel more confident both in handling complicated tasks on my own and in working with teams on tasks that have a large number of moving parts." Sam Shrank "The value of the MAP Fellowship for Worldwatch cannot be overestimated. The MAP fellows have become enormously important, core members of the Climate & Energy team." Alexander Ochs, Director of Climate and Energy
