Industry Initiatives

While MAP and its partnerships are not operators or extractors of natural gas and oil production, the Royalty Interests acquired by MAP partnerships are derived from these activities. MAP has chosen to self-impose a carbon tax on itself by dedicating at least five percent of the revenues from its carried interests in eligible MAP partnerships to the theme of Sustainable Energy Education. MAP's objectives within this theme are:

• To promote awareness of energy-related environmental issues by supporting non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that provide research, educational outreach, and implementation focused on sustainable energy resources, technology, and policy tools for the future.
• To support efforts to address energy-related environmental problems and the legacy of our past and present energy use.
• To educate and introduce interested members of the investment community to the ongoing efforts of top-tier NGOs that have a sustainable energy focus.
• To distinguish MAP as a socially responsible fund manager.
