During her MAP Fellowship, Yueming helped prepare a report highlighting the early opportunities for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in China (click here for Executive Summary). The report aims to assess how CCS technology can best be applied in China, both to meet China's own internal energy and environmental goals and to achieve carbon emissions impact on a global scale.

Yueming helped on almost all of the eight chapters of the report. She drafted chapter 2 on China's energy development plans going forward and the role and importance of CCS technology in meeting China's environmental and energy goals; translated and organized chapters 3 & 5 on China's CO2 emission sources and geological storage sites; helped translate part of chapter 6 on CCS case studies in China; prepared analysis for CCS cost in chapter 4 on capture technology in China; and conducted data analysis throughout the report. The full report was published in Fall, 2009.

"I learned more deeply about the energy, climate and general development in China. I got to know how the real world works in the field of energy and climate change in business community, government and non-governmental organizations."
